On 4 April 2025 the Tax Department announced that employers can verify whether an employee has a Tax Identification Number (TIN) by entering the individual’s ID number or alien registration card (ARC) number along with their date of birth, into a new tool on the Tax Portal .
Access to the tool is available only to employers who have:
- submitted at least one Employer’s Return; or
- made at least one payment of withheld tax for the period from 1 January 2021, onwards.
